Terms and Conditions

1. What this service does

YouTubeToTranscription retrieves the caption data that YouTube already publishes for a given video and presents it as a transcript. Where captions do not exist, the service says so rather than generating its own. Translated transcripts are produced by a third-party translation provider, not by us.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

Automated access is rate limited. Requests that exceed the limits may be refused, and sustained abuse may result in your address being blocked.

3. Your content and your rights

Transcripts you retrieve may be protected by copyright. That rights subsists in the underlying video and its audio, not in us. We claim no ownership over transcripts or translations you produce.

You are responsible for how you use the output, including checking whether your use requires permission from the rights holder. Downloaded transcripts are cached briefly for reliability; see the privacy notice for retention periods.

4. Availability

The service is provided as-is and without warranty. We depend on YouTube, whose internal interfaces change without notice, so extraction may break or degrade at any time. We do not guarantee uptime, and we may change or discontinue features.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service, including lost data, lost profits, or reliance on an inaccurate transcription or translation. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

6. Third parties

Translation is performed by a third party whose terms also apply to you. The embedded player is served by YouTube and governed by YouTube's terms, which you accept by using the player.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
